MESSAGE FROM THE
SECRETARTY-GENERAL

Esteemeed Delegates,

Before I became the Secretary-General of GEMS Model United Nations 2026, I used to believe eleven was just a number. But some numbers have a way of becoming more than what they are. Eleven is where a decade ends and something new begins, and to lead GEMSMUN into its eleventh chapter is to stand somewhere between what has already been built and what is still waiting to exist. We are not just turning another page of this book, we are writing our own legacy. This year’s conference has taken shape through countless hands; the Organizing Committee turning ideas into something tangible, the Executive Board preparing to give every room its own voice, and committees designed to make room for questions that do not always have easy answers. GEMSMUN XI will not begin the moment the first delegate walks into their committee or when the gavel strikes for the first time, because GEMSMUN XI has already begun. It exists in the form of puzzle pieces, fitting to create the perfect picture and I cannot express how excited I am to see that picture come to life on October 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

Soon, the rooms will fill, the placards will find their places, the Dais will take their seats, and the gavel will finally meet the table. Until then, this website is only the beginning of the story we are building. On October 2–4, the pages we have been preparing for months will finally become real. Until then, there are still ideas to refine, rooms to prepare, and a thousand small details quietly coming together behind the scenes. Perhaps that is the beauty of becoming; long before the first gavel falls, its story has already begun.
